Elmo love

This girl is in love with Elmo (and Abby, though she’s not featured as prominently in the Sesame Street show or gear). So, when Tim was out of town a few weeks ago, he picked up both an Elmo and Abby doll. We decided to keep these for the plane rides. One of her favorite things, though, is to ask you to draw Elmo. Admittedly, Tim is better at this than me, as you can see from the beach art.IMG_3909

And now, “Elmo poop”! I have no idea where this came from, but we spent quite a while on the plane ride home making and changing diapers for Elmo.

Geese, fish, and games

In San Juan, our room was in a building separate from the main hotel building, but we walked over there a few times a day and had to walk by the fish pond, that was also home to quite a few geese and peacocks. Reagan learned about geese and that they honk, and she was always pointing out their funny “noses”.

But, the highlight was the parrots – 2 blue ones and a white one. They were pretty funny – one morning, the white one was napping, so she would say “shhh” any time we talked about then. They, we caught them eating their breakfast – and there was food flying everywhere – so she would tell us how they made a such a mess.

There were also some games near the main beach/pool area. There was a big chess board, a Reagan-sized jenga set, and a large Connect 4 board. We didn’t play any of the games by the rules, but the equipment did occupy us for a while.

Puerto Rico

Last weekend, we were able to get away for some fun in the sun in San Juan. The hotel had beautiful grounds, 2 great pools, and a really nice beach. We spent most of the time on the beach, but were able to get to Old San Juan for an afternoon. We also took a drive to El Yunque rain forest one day for a hike and to see the waterfalls.

Sadly, we had a few casualties during the trip. I think this happened at the same time as the aforementioned “Daddy’s milk” incident - one of Reagan’s cups and my Phillies visor must have fallen out of the bottom of the stroller into the cab unnoticed and they are now gone. And, when we were hiking, the camera dropped from Tim’s pocket into a stream. Luckily, the camera seems to have dried out pretty well and is working fine, despite a somewhat damp screen.

DADDY'S MILK!!!

So we are here in Puerto Rico for a family get away (pictures forth coming). The weather has been great...Reagan loves the pool, the beach and the "hot pool." We are tired of going to restaurants (well Reagan is; thus, we are too) but we just discovered a delivery service that picks up from most restaurants in San Juan. Even after the deliver charge, it is cheaper (and better) than the resort.

We took a cab to old San Juan the other day and stopped at a grocery to pick up some snacks. I figured since a 6-pack of El Presidente (the beer of choice, despite being from the Dominican Republic) costs $8 versus $8 per bottle at the resort, I should buy a six pack. When we got back to the hotel, one fell out of the cab (luckily it didn't break) and Reagan exclaimed in her most concerned tone "Daddy's Milk!" I am not sure how I should feel about that.

BOGO Burritos

Reagan had her first Chipotle burrito tonight thanks to a facebook ad campaign for some new reality show. All you had to do was “watch” a 90 second spot for this show. I ran it behind whatever I was working on at the time, but now I kind of want to watch the show, because I really do like Chipotle and that’s where the first episode takes place.

Reagan has been there before, but never got her own burrito, because, well, she would never eat it all. But, she had some tonight and I get the rest for lunch tomorrow.

Sorry for the bag crinkling noise. I didn’t realize it was that close to the camera.

And, evidently the gold burrito wrapping started on the other day to celebrate being open 18 years.
