Whew!

Well, Friday was quite a day - Tim went off to work in the morning, so Reagan and I were left to fend for ourselves and get some errands done. Now, one would think that getting out of the house for a 1:45 doctor's appointment would be no problem, but we were nearly late.

Shortly after noon, I got myself some lunch and fed her, planning to leave by 1. I took her up to change her and this little fountain peed all over everything. Despite my preemptive efforts to try to keep her shirt dry, I was unsuccessful and her "cute outfit" - she only gets one per day - was removed for plain white. Not a big deal as this happens pretty regularly, but as soon as we got downstairs, she spit up... down both of our shirts. Back upstairs for her third shirt of the day and my second - fun times. And, yes, she was screaming the whole time, because she doesn't like getting changed and then she didn't want to be put down while I changed myself.

Thanks to the valet parking at the doctor's office, we were just on time. But, as usual, they weren't and we waited for a while to be called back and then there was a mix-up with 2 Reagans in the waiting rooms, which took some time to sort out. Thanks to an inefficient nurse and her spending a long time with no clothes on, there was a lot of crying - in my opinion - and not enough eating - in hers. Eventually, they quit poking and prodding and declared her to be fabulous, she ate some and was much happier and quiet before we left. Oh, and she weighed in at 8 lb 14 oz and 22 in, an increase of 1 lb 12 oz and 1.5 in from 2 weeks before. Did I mention she likes to eat?

We still had lots to do... a quick trip through Safeway, during which Reagan was a champ and happily slept in the sling. And a big thank you to the nice guy from Bar Louie who helped me carry my stuff down the steps to the car, since the elevators were not working. We caught an afternoon nap and then were off to our neighborhood bar, Pap & Petey's, to catch up with some friends who used to live in the neighborhood. And Briant and Wendy invited everyone back to their place for an impromptu dinner and to enjoy the backyard - and lovely new outdoor furniture. We all got to bed much later than our normal bedtimes, but it was a great, though exhausting day.

And Removing Weeds

For those of you who have been by recently, you probably noted how much of a wreck our front yard was - yes, was. If you weren't, it was essentially a yard full of weeds with some real plants mixed in. I didn't take any "before" pictures, but it was really bad and kind of embarassing.

Thanks to 6+ hours of hard work from Tim and his mom, it now looks beautiful!

Growing Like a Weed

It's pretty amazing how quickly Reagan changes and how much bigger she has gotten in just a few short days. Over the last few days, she has developed a bit of a double chin and little belly. We won't get a new weigh-in until Friday, though I am sure she has well surpassed her birth weight.

Settling in

Well after a week, I wouldn't say we have a routine but we are starting to figure things out. Reagan is sleeping pretty well. Two to three hours at a shot throughout the day and night. She likes to fall asleep on Dad's chest best, which can make the 9:00 - midnight hours rough on Dad, but after a while she realizes it's nighttime and will settle for the pack and play. When all she does is sleep, eat and, well...you know, most of the pictures start to look the same (incredibly cute). Here a couple pictures from the last day or two:

Mimi from Sidamo holding Reagan. After she gave Reagan back, Mimi made us a special breakfast.

Tim's resting position when he isn't doing laundry, cooking, cleaning the kitchen, picking up or going to the gym.

Susan getting some time alone.

And one of Reagan cause she is so cute.

Bath Time

We knew she wasn't going to like it, but since Reagan hadn't been cleaned since Monday night, she really needed some freshening up. Since she gets worked up over a diaper change, this was just about the reaction we expected.

But she got some love from Dad

And ended up like this for well over 2 hours.

She smells so fresh and clean - I'm sure even she agrees it was worth it.

Wow! What a big day I had.

First, I went to my local coffee shop with Mom, Dad, my neighbor Jennifer and her son Jack, who I will share a nanny with in September. Mom and Dad forgot their camera, but Jennifer had hers. I'll post those pics when she sends them.

Then I took a nap after Mom fed me...Doesn't she look great?

Next I hung out with my friends in my nursery

Dad was telling funny jokes all day long...he's really funny.

Then I went to the doctor. I was very brave and they told me I am doing great. Almost back to my birth weight.

I got to ride in my stroller for the first time...I liked that.
It was a big day.

Pictures from day 2 at home

Boy, you fall behind one minute on posting pictures and you really hear about it.
Here are some shots from yesterday.

Reagan's first day home

We came home from the hospital today. Reagan was pretty pissed the whole trip home because we had to un-swaddle her for the 10 minute ride. She cheered up though and was happy during her house tour. Here is how she spent her first day home

Sleeping in the car seat on the dining room table
with the flowers Grandmom Grillo brought her
Napping with Panda (Susan's)

Alone time with Dad

Napping on the couch

A little yawn

A big yawn

Singing?

Guess what I'm doing here...

Introducing...

The Armstrong Family

The newest member is Reagan DeFelice Armstrong. She was born on June 1 at 6:09 P.M. She was 7 lbs. 5 oz and 21.5 inches long at birth.

People are asking who she looks like; I've never been very good at that game so you can decide for yourself:
