Oxon Hill Farm

We’ve been trying to do some fun, local things on recent weekends. We picked a cooler few hours last Sunday to check out Oxon Hill Farm for some local history and agricultural education. For Reagan, of course, the animals were the most exciting. We saw some cows and Tim got to milk one. Then we walked up to the farm to see the rabbits, chickens, hogs, farm cat, and horse.

On weekend mornings, they let the kids in to the chicken coop to feed the chickens and gather the eggs.

Then, we took the eggs over to the hogs to give them a treat – we learned that once a pig weighs more than 150 lb, it is a hog. These guys are about 300 lb each!
